Overview

SuperMarioGlitchy4 (スーパーマリオグリッチフォー, Sūpā Mario Guritchi Fō), abbreviated as SMG4 (エスエムジーフォー, Esu Emu Ji Fō), is a YouTube channel active in Australia. It is also the character of the same name that appears in the channel's videos.

YouTuber

SMG4 is a YouTube channel that mainly produces derivative videos of the Super Mario series done by the Asian-Australian brothers Kevin and Luke. In 2017, they launched an animation production company called Glitchy Boy (renamed Glitch Productions in 2018), and has been working with Murder Drones and other 3D web animation productions, as well as running the channel.

The videos are characterized by a fast-paced development with gag elements, and are made using all kinds of materials that exist on the Internet. One episode is often about 8 to 12 minutes long, but there are also movie-style episodes of about 40 minutes and feature-length episodes consisting of several different types of episodes. In conjunction with these releases, the company also sells limited-edition merchandise such as posters and keychains, but these are not available for purchase in Japanese yen.

In the early days, the videos were mostly made by Luke alone, and the content was simple at best, monotonous at worst, with only subtitles added to actual gameplay screens.

The main focus is on Super Mario 64, as well as Pokemon, Splatoon, Sonic, Teletubbies, and Minecraft also appear, as well as stories set in Mario Maker, Paper Mario, and Mario Kart, and one in which Mario gets lost in the world of Undertale and GTAV.
