Overview
Akane Miura (三浦茜), or as also known by her nickname Debi-chan (デビちゃん) is a fan made K-On! character made by 2channel users for the second season of K-On!!. Her instrument is a euphonium given to her by her father. She is a transfer student who is one grade behind Yui and her classmates.
She lives on a slide in a park 5km away from her school. In fact, she is a homeless high school girl. Her father, a mercenary (PMC), has taught her how to live, and she is one of the strongest in athletic ability.
However, her reclusive nature keeps her out of the spotlight.
When she is alone, she weeds grass, but she is so bad at it that she faints when a grasshopper appears.
Conception and Creation
Before the second season of the anime started, a plan was made on the Breaking News VIP board on 2channel to create a new character to bait K-On! fans. The character was immediately used for trolling, but the bait itself became failure, so the idea was to shift the focus from baiting to developing Akane in earnest. Despite the bait being a failure in Japan, the the west it tricked quite a lot of fans over there.
In the 37th episode (distributed on March 20) of the web radio program Radi-on!, Akane Miura (voiced by Mari Yaguchi from Aoni Production) appeared as a guest and gave her first official character introduction.
Akane, who had been thought to be completely a fake character to trick fans, was revealed to be an official character, surprising fans.
Appearance
She has pink hair and a ponytail, which makes her look out of place compared to other K-On! characters. She also has brown eyes.
